From wool to cholesterol

The second step is the purification of the lanolin alcohols. Hereafter Dishman Vitamins & Chemicals separates the cholesterol from the lanolin alcohols by means of column chromatography. This separation technique was developed in a laboratory in Veenendaal. Nowadays this technique is used on a global scale. The starting material for vitamin D analogs is released during the production process of cholesterol.

Our products

Dishman Vitamins & Chemicals produce cholesterol for the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and feed market as well as for technical applications. The purpose of the production of vitamin D and vitamin D analogs is to use these products in pharmaceuticals and food supplementation. Lanolin derivatives are used by our customers in pharmaceutical and cosmetic products.
