Calcitriol


Calcitriol is a vitamin D analog. Vitamin D3 is converted by the human body into this active hormone. Calcitriol is obtained from a product released during the production of vitamin D3.

Calcitriol is especially used to prevent and treat osteoporosis or decalcification of bones. The substance is also active against other bone growth disorders such as rickets and specific liver and parathyroid glands abnormalities. Another area of treatment is psoriasis.

The identity of the substance has been verified by UV, IR, HPLC and NMR techniques.

Impurities according to the Monographs in the USP and Ph. Eur. Residual solvents in accordance to the Ph.Eur. and USP (organic volatile imparities).

Content 97-102% (HPLC method).

Solubility
Practically insoluble in water; freely soluble in alcohol; soluble in ether and fatty oils.

Quality
The product is made under cGMP and the production is FDA inspected and approved. DMFs are filed e.g. in the USA.



Packing
(Reclosable) ampoules under nitrogen. 25 Mg and 100 mg amounts are available from stock, other quantities available upon request.

Storage
Store in a dry and dark place under nitrogen, at temperatures indicated on the product label.
