Ergocalciferol (vitamin D2)
Ergocalciferol (vitamin D2) is an alternative nutrient to vitamin D3 to ensure the right concentration of calcium and phosphate in the blood. Vitamin D2 supplied by Dishman is produced out of ergosterol by performing several chemical reactions. Ergosterol is obtained from yeast fed with sugars. This makes the origin of the material vegetable which is important to many people.
Vitamin D2 is used to treat and prevent bone growth disorders such as rickets. Nowadays research shows that vitamin D2 can also be of paramount importance to prevent other abnormalities and diseases as well. Several forms of cancer and auto-immune diseases are some of these research areas.

Our crystalline vitamin D2 meets the requirements of the USP, BP and Ph. Eur. 1 gram Ergocalciferol equals 40,000,000 IU of vitamin D2.
Use
Ergocalciferol is used in the manufacture of human and veterinary, vitamin D2 containing, specialties both for oral and parenteral use.
Packing
Packing Packed under nitrogen in tins of 100 grams. (4 x 100 g.)
Storage The contents are guaranteed until the listed expiry date, provided the product has been stored in the original, undamaged and unopened packing and at a temperature generally not exceeding 20oC.
Precautions This product is very susceptible to oxygen. Do not open the tin unless for immediate use.
