DHT2

Dihydrotachysterol (DHT-2) is a vitamin D2 analog. The human body converts this material into a product that resembles the molecular structure of calcitriol. Because of this resemblance the mode of action of this product is comparable to calcitriol.

Dihydtrotachysterol is used in the prevention and treatment of several bone growth disorders. Besides this the substance is also used to treat several abnormalities of the parathyroid glands. DHT-2 is obtained from ergosterol.

The identity of the substance has been verified by UV, IR, HPLC and NMR techniques.

Impurities according to the Monograph in the Ph. Eur. Residual solvents in accordance to the USP (organic volatile impurities) and the Ph. Eur.

Solubility
Practically insoluble in water; freely soluble in alcohol; soluble in fatty oils.

The product is made under cGMP, DMF (applicant part) and a Technical Package are available.
Dishman has also been granted a Certificate of Suitability by the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines.

Packing
(Reclosable) ampoules under nitrogen.

Storage
Store in a dry and dark place under nitrogen at temperatures indicated on the product label.
